Ever wonder how art, play & sandtray works?
For many clinicians traditional talk therapy techniques were the only models taught in university....but there has to be another way, right? YES! This taped video will introduce clinicians to the power of art, play and sandtray therapies. The theory behind doing, materials needed and theoretical underpinnings will be shared in the free, introductory course.
By the end of the workshop participants will be able to:
- Define Art, Play and Sandtray Therapies
- Identify at least 3 materials to use for each modality
- Understand the basic theoretical use of art, play and sandtray in therapy

The Ethics Involved
Participants will learn how to refer to art, play and sandtray therapy in an ethical manner. The How & Why of experiential work will be discussed.
The Basics
Art, play and sandtray therapy for children, teens and adults will be discussed. The presenter will share ways that experiential services benefit clients of all ages.
Materials
Participants will be taken on a virtual tour of an art, play and sandtray office with an overview of materials each requires included.

Marla is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Registered Art Therapist, Registered Play Therapist - Supervisor™, EMDR Trained, Qualified Supervisor, Natural Lifemanship Intensive Trained and an Eagala Advanced Certified Professional. In other words, she loves experiential therapies! Marla founded Berger Counseling Services in 2009 and has presented locally and nationally on experiential services, trauma and bereavement.
