When Counting To 10 Does Not Work...

This training will introduce therapists, counselors, social workers and psychologists to the Neurosequential Model. Often called a Bottom-Up approach to growth and healing from trauma, the Neurosequential Model builds regulation and mindfulness into therapy services.  Clinician considerations for incorporating into CCPT and Adlerian Play Therapy will be discussed. Participants will learn and incorporate regulation and mindfulness activities through hands-on activities throughout the workshop. The use of regulation and mindfulness will be incorporated in art, play and sandtray activities throughout the training. This workshop is geared towards working with children, teens and adults dealing with trauma.

By the end of the workshop participants will be able to:

  1. Define the Neurosequential Model and it's use in CCPT and Adlerian play therapy
  2. Name at least three ways the Neurosequential Model aids in healing from trauma
  3. Identify at least three techniques to create regulation and mindfulness in trauma-informed art, play and sandtray services
  4. Incorporate at least three aspects of the Neurosequential Model into art, play and sandtray services
