Telehealth can be awesome....until it becomes boring and played out.
Covid-19 has changed many of our lives, including the way we provide services. Telehealth has brought us into our client's homes and lives. We have had to create a whole new toolbox of art, play and sandtray activities to help children, teens and adults manage. Like many clinicians, your well may have run dry for ideas. This video will serve as a guide for play therapists to infuse their practice with art, play and sandtray activities that will aid in with a variety of presenting concerns, ages and situations. Play Therapists will be able to incorporate learned skills into their clinical approach and techniques into in person and online telehealth services. Update your telehealth therapy toolbox with Experiential Explosion! Incorporating Art, Play & Sandtray Therapy Techniques into Telehealth. Trauma-focused, playful, fun activities will reinvigorate your practice. Ethical considerations, diversity and limitations will also be explored.
By the end of the video, participants should be able to…
- Describe at least two art, play and sandtray activities to incorporate into trauma-informed services with young children.
- Identify cultural considerations with play and art therapy techniques unique to telehealth.
- Demonstrate how to link activities to client's goals and outcomes.
- Define art therapy, play therapy and sandtray therapy
