I've got my art supplies...

what do I do next?

I've got my art supplies...what do I do next? We get it, grad school didn't prepare us for the real world...the one where clients don't like to talk or do worksheets all the time! Introducing art into therapy sounds like a good idea, until you realize you just don't know how to introduce concepts, process or expand a metaphor. The Got Art? Series will help alleviate those frustrations and get you on track for creating with your clients. This module focuses on the how to build in CCPT and directive skills into reflecting, tracking and processing the art making. Models of therapy, including CCPT, Adlerian and CBT will be interwoven into the workshop. Directive and non-directive approaches will be shared as well as ways to integrate into the playroom. This is an interactive video - please bring art supplies to create alongside the presenter!

By the end of the workshop participants will be able to:

  1. Identify art making at different Ages & Stages
  2. Incorporate at least three new skills to process art making
  3. Define the uses of directive and non-directive art making
  4. Link art activities to treatment goals
