Got Art series

I've got my art supplies...

what do I do next?

We get it, grad school didn't prepare us for the real world...the one where clients don't like to talk or do worksheets all the time! Introducing art into therapy sounds like a good idea, until you realize you just don't know how to introduce concepts, process or expand a metaphor. The Got Art? Series will help alleviate those frustrations and get you on track for creating with your clients. This module focuses on the basics of art materials, how to introduce them and is the building block for the subsequent Got Art? Series. We highly recommend this course as a prerequisite for other courses in the series. This is an interactive video - please bring art supplies to create alongside the presenter!

By the end of the workshop participants will be able to:

  1. Define Art Therapy and the ethical use of the term Art Therapy
  2. Identify at least 5 art materials
  3. Define the Media Dimensions Variables
  4. Introduction to the Expressive Therapies Continuum
  5. Incorporate at least 3 activities into therapy services
